Ensemble Settecento is Central Texas' newest ensemble dedicated to the historically-informed performance of 17th- and 18th-century music on period instruments. Our concerts, on period instruments and informed by the latest research in performance practice, include works by renowned masters such as JS Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann, Purcell, and Rameau, as well as works by less familiar (but equally talented composers) including Lully, Boyce, Boccherini, Albinoni, and Stamitz. Each performance is preceded by an informative and informal discussion of the music and composers, led by artistic director Billy Traylor.
